Zoe Murphy

Zoe Murphy joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Education and External Engagement department in 2024. As program manager of external engagement, she manages and facilitates programs to engage and deepen the relationship between the Boston and Berkshire community with the BSO. A few major projects Murphy has spearheaded at the BSO include Concert for the City, Community Chamber Concerts, and the Fidelity Young Artists Competition. 

In addition to her role as program manager, Murphy works as a professional trumpet player, composer, and educator based in Boston, Massachusetts. As an internationally recognized performer, she has played and studied with a diverse, and elite group of musicians around the world. Murphy performs regularly throughout New England and New York City in an array of styles and ensembles. Her most recent project, Pink, funded by the New England Conservatory, is an album highlighting the trauma and identity issues of a biracial person living in America. Murphy received a B.M in jazz studies-trumpet from Indiana University in 2020, and a M.M in jazz performance-trumpet from New England Conservatory in 2022.
