Boston Symphony Orchestra Announces 2025–26 Community Chamber Concerts

The Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is pleased to announce the 2025–26 Community Chamber Concert series to take place from October 12, 2025, to March 29, 2026. Established in 1998, this free concert series invites audiences to experience the unique intimacy of chamber music performed by BSO musicians in smaller spaces outside Symphony Hall. This season includes 10 performances at seven different venues throughout Greater Boston, including community centers, churches, and schools.

The 2025–26 series features BSO players and guests performing works for chamber ensembles of three to seven players. This year, 29 BSO players will participate in the program over the course of the season. Repertoire is chosen with the BSO’s Symphony Hall programs in mind and ranges from classical favorites by J.S. Bach, Haydn, and Beethoven to exciting works by contemporary composers including Gabriela Ortiz, Howard Blake, and Jessie Montgomery. Continuing the BSO’s Ravel 150 celebration, the series includes the composer's Introduction and Allegro for harp, flute, clarinet, and string quartet (Jan. 16 & 18) and String Quartet in F (Jan. 30).

Community Chamber Concerts are approximately one hour long without an intermission.

Quote from Josué González, Helaine B. Allen Vice President, Education and External Engagement:

“Our Community Chamber Concerts bring the exceptional musicians of the Boston Symphony Orchestra into the heart of the neighborhoods they serve. These intimate performances foster shared understanding and appreciation for classical music, while expanding access to world-class artistry for those who may not typically visit Symphony Hall.

“This year, we are proud to partner with several of our long-standing educational collaborators, who are generously opening their doors to host BSO musicians. Institutions such as the Conservatory Lab Charter School, the Community Music Center of Boston, the Veronica Robles Cultural Center, and Zumix are creating new opportunities for the BSO to connect with community members in their own neighborhoods. Thank you to these institutions—and to all the venues that welcome us—for helping us connect more personally with the people we serve. We look forward to performing at a venue near you very soon.”
